On Saturday 26, Sunday 27 and Monday 28 September 2026 there will be a partial closure of the line between Cadenazzo and Locarno. This will lead to various changes to services S20, RE80 and S30:

 

• S20 connections will run on revised timetables. Night-time cancellations between Cadenazzo and Locarno are also expected;
• Some RE80 connections are cancelled between Cadenazzo and Locarno;
• All S30 connections are cancelled between Bellinzona and Luino.

Travellers should use replacement bus services or alternative connections. The online timetable is up to date. Please allow for longer journey times. Attention: in some cases travellers must depart earlier than their planned departure time.

We also invite travellers to pay attention to any changes to InterCity connections.

Additional measures are also planned during the nights of 25/26 and 28/29 September 2026.

In Ticino, travellers with disabilities who require assistance boarding or alighting from trains within Swiss territory can announce their needs at least one hour before departure by calling the free number 0800 007 102 (from Switzerland) or +41 800 007 102 (from abroad). This service is available from 5:00 a.m. to midnight.

Only a limited number of bicycles can be transported on the replacement buses.
