The 79th edition of the Locarno Film Festival will start on 5 August 2026, and as every year, those in possession of an admission ticket to the event can travel by public transport in all areas of the Arcobaleno tariff community for the duration of the ticket.
Using TILO to reach the Piazza Grande and attend the screenings of the Locarno Film Festival is even more convenient and comfortable. Also confirmed this year is the additional RE80 connection, which will run for the duration of the Festival (except Sunday), departing Locarno at 2:00 a.m and arriving in Lugano at 2:31 a.m.
During the night from Sunday, 9 August to Monday, 10 August, the additional connection will be provided by a replacement bus that runs to Chiasso.
