On 28 May 2026 Swissminiatur unveiled a scale model of a TILO FLIRT TSI train.
The project is the result of over a year of joint work between Swissminiatur’s staff and external partners. Design and digital modelling were carried out by the park’s Polydesigner 3D team; laser cutting of materials was entrusted to specialised suppliers; construction and electrification were completed by Swissminiatur’s in-house precision mechanics and electricians. The model faithfully reproduces the FLIRT TSI TILO’s red, blue and green livery and marks a technological milestone for Swissminiatur: it is the first train developed entirely using the new digital technology, confirming the park’s transition from analogue to digital.
The Swissminiatur Park, open since 1959, hosts over 130 scale models of Switzerland’s most famous buildings, monuments and means of transport, all faithfully reproduced at 1:25 scale. Making the park even more interesting are over 20 model trains, which run on a network of more than three kilometres.
Swissminiatur is open every day until 8 November 2026, from 09:00 to 18:00 (last admission 17:30). The park can be reached conveniently by TILO services S10/S50 and S90, alighting at Melide station. For more information, consult the timetable online.
