Starting from 21 June and until 31 August 2025, a revised timetable will be in effect in Ticino due to summer construction work, which involves a partial reduction of services on the TILO lines. These are a series of modifications to the 2025 timetable associated with infrastructure interventions on the railway network as well as work near the railway. This is important for a constantly maintained and technologically advanced network ensures safety and punctuality for customers.
The main works in Swiss territory will take place at Lugano station, north of Melide station, and between Vezia and Capolago. In Italian territory, there will be significant changes for the RE80, S50, and S40 connections. Please check the online timetable before setting off on your journey.
Customers will be thoroughly informed at stations, on trains, and online to ensure a smooth and safe journey. On Swiss territory, there will be visual announcements and loudspeaker announcements, as well as real-time updates on monitors at the main stations in the Canton. On long-distance and TILO trains, vocal and visual announcements will ensure passengers are correctly informed.
The online timetable is updated in real time and provides updates on possible changes in rail traffic. Additionally, a dedicated website is available where all construction works and the resulting timetable changes are detailed.
From 1st September 2025, TILO services will resume normal operation.
