Due to major infrastructure works, from 28 July to 25 August 2025 all S40 and S50 services are suspended between Stabio, Varese, Gallarate and Malpensa.

A replacement bus service is operating, which, compared to the usual train service, runs with a changed schedule e changed frequencies, depending on the time of the day and the day of the week. Please allow for a longer journey time. The online timetable has been updated as of 25th July 2025.

In Ticino, travellers with disabilities who require assistance boarding or alighting from trains within Swiss territory can announce their needs at least one hour before departure by calling the free number 0800 007 102 (from Switzerland) or +41 800 007 102 (from abroad). This service is available from 5:00 a.m. to midnight.

In order to better organise assistance on Italian territory, travellers with disabilities are invited to communicate their needs, at least 48 hours before departure, on the dedicated number 800.210.955 (from Italy, active every day from 8.15 to 19.45).
